And just like that…it’s August! I don’t know about you but I’m still waiting for spring to happen. August is usually a quiet month with lots of people taking holidays, I imagine this year will look a little different.
1st August 2020 – Yorkshire Day, so yeah, businesses in Yorkshire should extol the joys of being in the county that Sean Bean is from. Construction companies and interior designers might want to amplify their particular Yorkshire approach, hospitality firms will have a lot they could share, and businesses related to tourism have a good opportunity to invite people to the best county in the world.
While most of us are still working from home, cycling related businesses have the opportunity to share information on 6th August 2020 as the UK’s Cycle to Work Day. Companies where cycling is already part of the commute may also use the day to promote how their employees benefit from cycling to work.
Pet groomers and retailers take note, 8th August 2020 is International Cat Day. Most cats think every day is international cat day, especially my office assistant – Mr Fish.
Businesses involved with children and teenagers will be able to highlight the importance of giving them freedom to play and have everyday adventures on 5th August 2020, National Play Day. Children’s entertainers and organisations may wish to share posts about adventures, nurseries can share details of their play activities. This is followed by International Youth Day on 12th August 2020, which has the theme of Youth Engagement for Global Action.
Photographers on your marks, 19th August 2020 is World Photo Day. This is not an opportunity to fly into space and take a selfie with Earth, it is an annual celebration of the art, craft, science, and history of photography.
Monday 31st August 2020 will be the last Bank Holiday until Christmas. September brings the start of the new year for schools, Parliament picks up, businesses get back into their swing, so the late Summer Bank Holiday is a chance to relax and enjoy the summer sun (hopefully).
